Key Facts

Keep your decking clean.

One of the most important forms of maintenance is to keep you decking clean. Make sure that you sweep the timber down regularly, keeping it free from dirt and fallen leaves that retain moisture that will lead to problems later. Paying special care to build up between the boards.
Use a cleaning fluid such as a propriety Decking Cleaner periodically to remove any green algae, dirt and grease. This also sterilizes the surface of the timber, discouraging algae from returning.

Water repellent treatment.

Pressure treated deck boards will last many years without treatment, but this can be extended with the use of water repellent and coating annually.
Products such as Decking Seal, Decking Protector and Decking Oil are ideal for this purpose, applied in late summer, available upon request.
